Chrysler announced today that it will add 1,250 new jobs at three of its Michigan plants and invest $238 million in those facilities.

Chrysler to hire 1,250 in Michigan - Nov. 15, 2012

Things certainly seem to be looking up for the auto industry in MI and that's good news.

just wondering, how would a governor of Massachusetts have any effect on the way the economy grows of a country?

Hooray! They can hire the former twinkie bakers, or at least 7% of them.

I am going to miss twinkies even though I have not eaten one in 20 - 30 years. Just knowing they were there was comforting.

Our grandchildren are going to watch Zombieland and the whole twinkie thing will completely escape them. "What is a twinkie? They will say.

Anyway back to chrysler - that is good news, it will particularly impact our immediate area so persoanlly it is esepecially good news to me. (However I really do hope they bring in some twinkie bakers - maybe they will retire and open a twinkie bakery after a few years).

I do hope they do not go back to their attempt to expand the Trenton Engine plant out into Van Born road though. BEtter to tear out the supid train tracks and expand there.

It is funny because the trenton plant was going to close, then they were going to massively expand, then they were going to close agian, in fact they set a date. Next thing I know they were expanding instead of closing, only not as much as originally planned. The expansion actually casued a loss of jobs I think becuase they became more automated. Now they are expanding again. I would hate to work there, what a rollercoaster.

Good news sure. Great news for the area and state, nope as its not attractive jobs for younger people to keep or have them move to Michigan. I rather have 1,000+ jobs mixed with finance, technology, media. Notice how more diverse that is also which we need in southeast Michigan.

The economy is already tanked. Look at all the empty stores in the strip malls. Many companies all over the US are laying off. Most of Chrysler's new hires are contract.

I don't really see this as a good thing. For the ever growing hotter planet, that is.
By the time gas and oil come to an end like the Twinkies, our summers will probably be 120 degrees average. But who cares? Men with small penises will have really cool cars to drive.

Having these jobs centralized in a truly urban area would fix a big chunk of that problem.
