Need help!!!
Any one know if this is a sump pump ? why there is no pipe to the exterior?

Thanks for any feedback

usually sump is pvc pipe, that looks like a copper well pump that is caped off at the top

Agree with Dave. A sump usually sits in an open or covered "Crock" -- a hole that's about 18" acress and three feet deep.

No not a sump pump. A sump pump will have a collection area with a float that auto turns on the pump when the water is up. As it appears someone was pumping out the basement with an electric water pump I would try to find out if there was at one time a water problem and if so how to avoid in the future.

Possibly an old water pump from a well that was capped when they got city water?

It is clear whatever it was, it probably does nothing now. Does it run?

Do you live near a river or lake? I knew someone who had something like that to draw water for lawn sprinklers, but it was all plastic. Copper is usually for potable water.
