Hello all,

My wife and I will be moving to the Lansing area for work near MSU in a few months. We found an apartment called Woodland Lakes Apartments which appears nice and affordable. However I saw a previous post here from 4 years back saying the Holt/Lansing area isn't very safe. Any input about this general area would be very appreciated as we can't travel there before we sign the lease. Is it safe for a woman to walk alone during the day/evening in the general area? This particular complex is on 4320 Dell Rd. The apartment rating websites seem a little too high to be true.

Thanks!

Woodland Lake Apts are an excellent choice.

Yes, parts of Holt/S Lans are bad. The Holt side is mostly just fine.

I live between Willoughby and Keller Rds, not far from Woodland. As a young, single female, I take my toddler out for walks during the day and evening without an issue.

Dell Road is very safe. Lot's of people walk dogs, kids, and run in that general area. She'll be fine. Actually, most of Holt is very safe~maybe a little unnerving over near Cedar Street, but the downtown area and suburbia is very safe. Holt is a cute community! Welcome!
