Mackinac Island is just like any other attraction in any other state. It's nice to go to once in a while, but you wouldn't want to go all the time. We like to go to bike around the island and see the beauty...not be in the crowded town spending crazy money. The ride out is a blast also, especially if they take you under the bridge.

Definitely like Disney to me~a trip once every 5 years or so is enough for me. I don't find it expensive, except to sleep. Food/meals are reasonable and decent, as are the activities (bike rentals, carriage rides etc.) Being on the island in the evening or in the morning (before the onslaught of day trippers) is pleasant.
