Well how does everyone feel about the Governor making secert deals with her long time backers to build the New State Police HQ's in Lansing that will cost the residents of Michigan $116 Million Dollars in taxes after she leaves Office. Boy if this ain't all about making favors for Friends of the Governor at the cost to the Residents of Michigan. 200 State Policemen and women say the State can't afford this deal and on top of that they didn't ask for it. The State Police HQ's now only costs the State $1.00 a year and this Governor wants to run that Bill up to $116 Million Dollars over the next 5 years, Watch Channel 7 News Steve Williams is doing the story on the Governors secert deals.

I see there must be a lot of people who didn't know of the New State Police HeadQuarters deal or they don't care if their Governor makes secert deals with her supporters at the exspence of TAX PAYERS. This is what cracks me up about people in this State they wont stand up against this Governor and her Good Old BoyZ club, and they talk about the Republican Party being Crooks. I guess it's the saying of the "Kettle calling the Pot Black"

Default Just One More Example

Yes, I was very aware of this wasting of taxpayers funds and once again find this behaviour extremely disturbing. Another example was when the state DNR was going to hold an off-site meeting at a resort instead of using conference facilities that already existed for DNR use. The state's position will no doubt be couched in some jargon telling us how much our lives will be improved in the state and the better service we will get from the new, expensive facility.

I am amazed at the lack of outrage by the citizenry, but I know why people simply shrug this kind of behaviour off. First of all, I write the Governor's office often and I do not get responses. Second, I call the Governor's office, and I get "I don't know", or "That's Treasury's responsibility", or "Someone will get back to you". Well, nothing happens. But I keep trying. So I can only encourage others to do the same - keep these issues in the forefront. Shut down the switchboard with complaints. Keep writing.

Keep telling them that they work for us - not the other way around! Complacency is the wrong answer. It's our state.

Default WOW! I am glad we are out of there.

Sad that we left the state 3 plus months ago, but this place is going down faster than the Titanic
She needs to be replaced by the same people who put her in office.
Between the high gas prices, high taxes, new high taxes and no work, how will the people of Michigan be able to make it.
This just sucks all the way around and the only people who will be fine after the dust settles are the ones in office.
Wake up Michiganders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't know anything about this either. It's probably something they don't want to broadcast. It comes as no surprise, and I think people become weary of fighting what may be considered a losing battle. During the budget talks I contacted several legislators offices and Granholm's office as well. Their replies were condescending, evasive, and even dishonest. In fact, when I questioned the governor's spokesman about the raise in pay for state workers, he told me, "I didn't hear about any raise in pay for state employees" Imo, he should be fired for either lying or for being stupid. I don't even feel like voting anymore...but I will,...you just wait.

You would be suprised at the number of people who are unaware of most things that go on in this state. As Southerkomfort27 puts it, people have no will to fight anymore. Although there are some of us that make our comments known, they are not enough to matter. I don't feel like voting anymore either! It's an illusionary appeasement.
