Birmingham, Bloomfield Township, or Farmington Hills.
Rochester or Plymouth are acceptable if you like longer commutes.

Absolutely do not move to Royal Oak. It is one of the worst environments a high school student can live in. Teenagers in Royal Oak get in violent street fights often that leave them pretty banged up. The schools are a joke, not to mention the fact that there are many hard drug users going to the schools as well.

I'd urge you to take a look at Berkley or Birmingham. They both have much better schools and less drama and drug users than Royal Oak. Plus, plenty of adults from Royal Oak nowadays are rude, pretensious and dirty. Berkley and Birmingham are smaller, cleaner, classier and more social.
