190 to register my Escalade. Thats ONE truck. The SAME truck in Texas is 59.00.

This state is OUT OF CONTROL. Almost 4X as much just so they come up short on the fiscal year and BLOW IT on wasteul government spending. I'm tired of it. The property taxes are out of line not to mention the state income tax thrown on top.

I'm 27 with good Company and i'm leaving this place. I'm just one of many in my age group that i know that have/are leaving.

Best wishes to the rest of you.

You won't get a break anywhere , until you become an adult ( 30 ). and then again at 40. Stay out of the cities and suburbs , where taxes are high , and that will help also on your insurance rates......... Michigan is a very rural state, once you leave the cities. It costs less to live in the boonies.

California has people moving to this state by the droves. I predice this state will become the next carolinas in the next 10 years.
I have watched property prices go up steady for the last 5 years.
I am barely surviving in northern Michigan. I was told that there's nothing but yokels in Arkansas ,but after reading some of the Arkansas post on C.D., and doing some other research, I have concluded that that's far from accurate. I need to find an area that is affordable, has good jobs, and maybe some pleasant scenery. I had been looking at the Carolinas, but Arkansas is looking pretty good too.

South carolina is very expensive and wages are not high enough to compensate for the high cost of housing.
Hot Springs AR. does not have high wages but work is much better than almost any where in michigan.
The scenery is more beautiful than anywhere in michigan, Views that cost an arm and leg in MI when you can find the few that are available are everywhere here. It is the only town that is inside a federal park. There are festivals almost every week.

Carpool.

You will cut your expenses considerably, reduce pollution, and make some new friends.

find someone who works the same schedule as me and I'm all for it. I work 7am-3pm most days, but then 12pm-8pm others and 6am-2pm on others and 3pm-3+/-am on others, it just would not work for me, the schedule changes too drastically and I get held up after I'm supposed to go home too often.
