Just curious if anyone on here has a hobby farm or would consider themselves homesteaders? Just curious how difficult it is to raise animals and a garden in the northern LP or even in the UP. Obviously the growing season is shorter than a lot of places in the U.S., but just curious who on here may be living that lifestyle and what tips/recommendations would you have for someone considering the same?

Near the Great Lakes will have a much longer growing season than the interior. Avoid the odd spot of frozen tundra to the northeast of Gaylord.
