Hello,

I'm looking for recommendations for a liberal general practitioner in Traverse City, preferably female. Can anyone assist?

Thank you.

Do you mean holistic?

Are social liberals better at practicing medicine?

No, social liberals are not better at medicine, nor do you talk politics in a Dr' s office. Liberal Dr' s tend to hand out pot cards freely though.

That's not the reason. Liberals CAN be better at practicing medicine when the patient is anything but straight, white, and typical though. Not looking to get into a political discussion, just looking for a good referral.

If you truly feel that a Dr's political leanings will affect how they treat a patient, I really feel bad for you.

Best of luck finding a Dr (regardless of political beliefs) that you feel comfortable with.

You know, it's possible a flaming right-winger would have different standards for gays or minorities for instance. I mean, who knows? His/her religion may play a role. Better safe than sorry. Still, good luck in finding out such a thing. Someone in your area, who also participates here, might have an inkling. There are a very few so stay tuned.
I have gotten certain "vibes" when my doc peppers his conversation with codewords and/or platitudes I have heard elsewhere.
Also I think a holistic doc would tend to be more liberal, since much of the establishment doesn't embrace holistic medicine.

Could you imagine the vitriolic response from the Left Wing if a conservative asked for a conservative doctor?

As a physician, I'm not sure if I should be offended or be laughing hysterically. Leaning towards being offended.

By definition, your post is political.

If you wish, goto fec.gov to look up an individual's political contributions.

Good luck, but would not mar the doorstep of my classmates in Traverse City with a patient like yourself.
