I'm planning on doing a backpacking trip up in Nordhouse Dunes in a couple weekends. I planned on also swinging down into Ludington State Park. Are there any trails that connect the two parks? Or would I need to walk along the shore? Thanks!

I see nobody is responding. I have been to both places. Took the trail from Nurnberg Road to lake Michigan and don't recall a trail diverging south - but this was years ago. Yet one map I found shows a trail marked "other foot trail", perhaps carved out by local residents, which goes to the state park border near the north end of Hamlin Lake at the Lost Lakes area, but the "official" trail systems seem to be far apart.

The Ludington system travels a ways north at Hamlin Lake, and perhaps it's possible hook up there after a trek along Hamlin. Sorry, but no first-hand experience with that.

According to the maps, the northernmost part of the Ridge Trail is about at the level of the lighthouse (not real far from the Lost Lakes).
