Is there a better time of day to see the waves or is this just because of the winds that have been kicking up?

When I lived in Michigan I would drive to the lakes to see these November storms put on a show. Its always impressive to see those lakes like that.

Winds. A severe low pressure system came through the last couple of days. Most of the time Lake Michigan is pretty calm.
