That's great, MI is definitely coming back full swing. Hopefully it will come back more diversified.

I can sure live with news like this! And honestly, I think there is no way to add all those jobs without diversifying.

Overall, the unemployment rate is only 5% in this country right now. 15% in Detroit, though, where we need those 126,000 jobs to spring up. Startups would be crazy to put down roots anywhere else -- there are so many empty buildings selling for a song and so many good people who want the work.

I heard about this on the radio this morning driving over to work: http://www.freep.com/story/money/bus...lant/76130536/

That's a good example of the kind of use we can put those empty auto factories to. Even Jackson Prison was recycled as a movie set for a while there, before Snyder cut off all the tax incentives for moviemakers in Michigan.

That's good to know. The real way to measure the unemployment rate by cities would be by metropolitan areas so that would put Detroit (metro) at 5.5%. The city itself is about 10.5%.

Seems like things are going upwards in Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Traverse City, Kalamazoo, Midland, and Marquette.

Lansing seems to be on neutral ground but really needs something to spark there. But the downtown and Old Town have been cleaned up. I still think that Lansing and E. Lansing need to consolidate.

However, Flint, Saginaw, and Jackson really appear to be lagging behind.

Right, exactly. Flint and Detroit really only had the auto industry, Jackson was an all-prison town...So they got hit right in the teeth.

That's good news because I only need one, maybe two, and I'm good.
