We are thinking about buying some property in Regency Hills, Shelby and I was wondering what anyone can tell me about the area. What schools are close and good, and if there is any shopping around. Thanks so much!

You mean Shelby Twp.? If so, I used to live in Shelby Twp. and it is pretty nice, relatively speaking. If nice means safe neighborhoods, decent schools, shopping, etc. then it can be a very good place to call home. The reason I moved from there was because a few years ago Shelby Twp. was the epicenter of suburban sprawl and I couldn't take the 10 mile commute to work and back. The infrastructure (i.e. roads) were not updated to account for all the new subdivisons that were built. They basically added thousands of residents into an area that not long ago was farmland. Rush hour up there was horrible and still is. Other than that, I like living there. There is any sort of store, restaurant you can think of within a reasonable drive but no mistake about it, it is Suburbia USA.

I've lived in Regency Hills Sub for 12 years now and I love it. The schools are great my neighbors are the best, you have access to everything and anything. They have bike paths that take you everywhere. I just wouldn't buy on Whitby Way if you have small kids, with not having sidewalks it could be dangerous with the kids running out into the street and cars will cut through from 24 mile to 25 mile all day long and the speeders are abundant.
