This kinda feels more like a tourist or hype website than an objective article, but...

I was up there for a conference a couple months ago and I went downtown one night to get a drink. I was actually pretty shocked at how much activity there was for a little rural city, miles from anything major. It was cool to see. My coworker and I went to a pub on Main Street, just east of the interstate, and it was a happening place. Tons of brews on tap and just a good atmosphere. It felt like I was in this cool mix of a swanky deep pocket yuppie-millennial dig married to a laid-back "Up North" bar for the regulars. 10/10, would grab a beer again! If it didn't make more career-sense for me live in a city, I'd look into Gaylord as a place to call home.

I own my own business and talked to Gary Scott in person at the clock tower many times. We were close to signing to open a storefront there but had to make the tough decision to wait a bit longer. He has a very exciting vision and plans for the building and actually the whole block. If things work out the way he wants, it's going to be pretty amazing up there in a year or so.
We actually keep in touch still because he wants my kind of business up there pretty badly, and If we can upgrade our equipment to handle the extra business a store would bring, I would still LOVE to be part of whats going on in the near future.

When people talk about beautiful places in Michigan, it's always the beach towns on Lake MI, or Traverse City, Mackinac, or the U.P. I actually think the Gaylord area is really underrated for beauty. I love the rolling hills, higher elevations with views of the horizon, mixed hardwood forests, the deep snow that you can usually find there during winter. Also from my experience I've seen the best fall color displays in that part of the state.

Yes, This is a real nice area, plus the perfect location to hit all parts of Northern, Western, and Eastern MI....plus just NE is the Pigeon River State Forest. This place is like no other in lower MI. It looks and feels like your in the middle of the U.P. and it is gorgeous there! If your ever in the area, it is a must see!

I always felt it was a perfect location to be. You are right smack dab in the center of so many places within an hours drive that provide an entire day of enjoyment and a short ride back home.
