Hi everyone I would just like to know what are the best citys in mi to live in and why, which has many things to do, who has the best festivals, art fairs, bars pubs, just fun things to do every day, who has alot of jobs, which city's have the most opportunitys, Your comments would be appreciated.

Well the Metro Detroit area has all of that of course and I'm including Ann Arbor in this group as well since it's less than a hour from downtown Detroit. On a smaller scale Grand Rapids also has plenty of amenities to keep you busy and a very healthy job market. After that it's a little bit of give and take but Kalamazoo and Lansing are also pretty solid options.

But Mt. Pleasant is less than an hour to Saginaw!
Screw it. There are only 4 parts of Michigan: Metro Detroit - From Toledo to Jackson to Waterford and Lapeer to Port Huron. Grand Rapids - From Chicago to Big Rapids to Kalamazoo. Flint - from Lansing to Mt. Pleasant to the rest of the thumb. Then everything north of Mt Pleasant.

Ooh, I can do this too. New Baltimore and Canton are more than an hour apart so therefore they're in a different metro. Also, Rochester Hills and Grosse Ile are totally different metro areas.

I wish I could rep you again for this post. Lol people are funny. Northern Macomb, Shelby township, Brighton, Clarkston, ect are all part of Metro Detroit despite being more than 45 minutes from downtown Detroit
. Can we all guess why the census bureau lumped these cities all together in one area and didn't lump 2 cities with 40 miles of farmland between them? Well if you ask me it's probably the same reason why Los Angeles has alot more suburbs that are more than 45 minutes away from downtown LA, because LA has 3 times as many people as Detroit. Therefore, there are alot more cities lumped in with the LA area.

The same reason why I didn't lump Jackson or Toledo or Flint with Detroit. There isn't 30 minutes of farmersonly.com between Detroit and Ann Arbor. There are a number of Detroit suburbs that are closer to Ann Arbor than Detroit. In fact, outside of the greenbelt the development is pretty continuous. Is there continuous sprawl from GR to Kzoo? or is the southern most suburb of GR closer to Kzoo then it is GR? is Kzoo at least in GR CSA? no, it's 40 minutes of rural towns that completely separate the 2 cities.

Now all you have to do is show me 30 miles of urban development between Lansing and Flint, and all of the other stuff you named. Now that you mentioned Chicago, care to explain why Joilet, Naperville, and Michigan City are all lumped with Chicago despite being more than 45 minutes from downtown Chicago?

. Can we all guess why the census bureau lumped these cities all together in one area and didn't lump 2 cities with 40 miles of farmland between them? Well if you ask me it's probably the same reason why Los Angeles has alot more suburbs that are more than 45 minutes away from downtown LA, because LA has 3 times as many people as Detroit. Therefore, there are alot more cities lumped in with the LA area.
