Dude, Saginaw is HORRIBLE. It is called Saginasty for a reason! It's totally full of violent crime that is slowly spreading through the city. The east side is the WORST but the other parts are getting bad too. That's why rent prices are so much cheaper. The roads are horrible, the city is full of ruins and low quality buildings/housing. And yes, the climate is terrible.

Seriously, find a career elsewhere. More and more people are leaving the city because it's awful. Almost no one wants to be there, most who still are there are only there because they can't afford to leave or their careers make them trapped there.

Did you learn this while standing at the water cooler in the break area at work?

It is 100% wrong or massively exaggerated. Maybe go there sometime and look around before offering an opinion abou t the place.

For the OP right now parts of Saginaw are flooding and people may be evacuated.

We have several friends who live in Saginaw. They like it well enough and ae comfortable staying there. it is not one of the cities I would send people to see to show off what Michigan has to offer. However it is not a place where I would be reluctant to move to if I needed to move there for some reason. It is nice enough that my wife and I have taken an occasional extended weekend vacation there or neighboring Bay City. We like Bay City better, but most of our friends who live there prefer Saginaw.

This line of discussion is funny this year. In late AApril or early May, my wife slipped in some snow and broke her leg. We had 3" one morning (I think that was still april, but it may have been may. At that was 20 miles south of Detroit.

You never know what to expect this time of year. the last few days I have still needed a coat. Sunday will be 82 degrees if the weather predictor people are correct. The one thing that is certain about april and may is lots of wind and lots of rain. Aslo clouds.
