Has anyone successfully filed for Michigan unemployment for independent contractors?

I am a real estate agent with a 1099-MISC. I have tried to file on line, but it keeps asking me for my Unemployment Insurance Employer Account Number (EAN). Being I am not an employee, the company that I work under dose not have an EAN. I had heard that the site is suppose to ask for me to upload my 1099-MISC, but it does not. Instead, it is only asking me the standard questions of a regular employee that is trying to get their typical unemployment benefits. Also, their phone lines are not working.

It looks like the phone lines are finally working. I have been on hold for 2 hours so far. Hopefully I will be able to get an actual person on the phone today and get this resolved. I will update here after I speak to a rep.

Finally got a rep on the phone today, but he was not able to fix it. He also was not able to take my application for 1099-MISC Independent Contractor over the phone. It can only be done online. Being I also had a w-2 for a seasonal on call, snow plowing job (only $535 for the entire year), that W2 is overriding the PUA application.

The best he could come up with is to keep checking back and hope that they fix it!

Good news! It looks like the State of Michigan has fixed the problem and I am now able to fill out a PUA application online! There are always bugs in any new system and I am glad to see that they are working fast to correct those bugs.
