If you do some research, you will learn that Michigan is one of the safest places on earth.
Yeah, but let's not underestimate the danger of snake attacks in Michigan.

Just the other day I was working on my land, and pulled off a tarp I have over some rock specimens that wife and I collect. I saw the tail of a an Eastern Milk Snake disappear into the pile. I bet if I had grabbed that guy, pulled him out and forced his mouth open and put my finger in there, he would have bit me!

I think my daughter had one of those as a pet. It was big - probably 6' long. Smelly though and not much of a pet, it just sits there on her shoulders and flicks its tongue. they are not affectionate or anything. She finally gave it away. No one misses it. No more dead rats in the freezer is a good thing.

You may laugh, but I nearly had a heart attack once when I was washing my golfball and realized the hissing sound I heard was not coming from the new ballwasher, but from a bigass snake curled up at its base! It was the only snake I've ever encountered in Michigan.

Your Governor was elected my the citizens of your state. That alone wipes out many of your less dangerous conditions. I'm a long ago transplanted Michigander.

Where's the down vote on this site when a poster comes for a quick political hit then runs?

As for the tornadoes, they're worse than some realize. The Dexter tornado of 2012 wiped out a good part of a subdivision and damaged 266 homes. I live in the area and we are the area that seems to have the most tornado watches. Every summer I have to go hide 3-4 times. Granted, it's not Oklahoma, but they're here.

Otherwise, I agree with the OP's list, we are fortunate.

So move to a different part of Michigan. Your link shows where.
