Yeah nice pictures, haven't been to that area myself yet. Looking at the pictures it doesn't seem like it's safe to actually go done the slope. Looks like if you try to slide down you'll fall face first.

Little Traverse Bay, as seen from East Bay Park near Petoskey. I love this area of Michigan!

A lesson I learned:

It takes about 30 seconds to leap down the Log Slide. It takes about a six-pack to get back up.

That photo of the Huron Mountains looks very much like a place outside a small town in central Washington called Roslyn. If the name sounds familiar, it's the town where the TV series "Northern Exposure" was filmed back in the early-to-mid 90s. A view very much like this one was used in several episodes. So, except for Seattle, the Cascades and the Olympic Peninsula, I wouldn't say that part of the PNW has much over Michigan.

Do you have any pictures of the town of Marquette? I have been thinking about taking a job up there and am curious as to what the town looks like! It is so beautiful!

Here are a few. There are a lot of nice old historic buildings in downtown. They did a really nice job with new homes, offices and restaurants on the waterfront.

Not the greatest but the only one I have of downtown.

Where was that photo shot? Looks a lot like the Lake of the Cloud lookout point at the Porcupine Mountains.

You are correct! We should have some sort of game in this Michigan forum like "Where is this place in Michigan?" where we post pictures and have to name where it is in this beautiful state..

Speaking of Lake of the Clouds..
