Born and raised in Port Huron. It was wonderful in the 80s and 90s. So much potential. Overrun with slum lords and destroyed by jobs relocating because of NAFTA. Watching it decline has been heartbreaking. To me the decline of Port Huron is emblematic of the rust belt and the failures of Reagan Republicans and Clintonian “3rd way Democrats”

Went to CMU. Lived in Mt P in the summer. No CMU, nothing interesting.

Lived I. Monroe in summer of 2000 for work. Boring. I see no point in living there. Overpriced because if it’s proximity to bigger cities, nothing to do because it’s so close to big cities. Beaches kinda sucked. Standard bedroom community.

Just keeping it in the Lower....as just about any place in da U.P. would be fine...I believe Holt would fit into my criteria.

Not too far from decent work, great schools, etc.
