I just had a conversation with our local health department about the Amish. This could effect other.

Driller1 sounds like the article is relating to the business of Agriculture and live stock safety (more about livestock since the article was about tagging cows.) and not the ultimate demise of the world as prophesised by the Bible.

The Amish have their ways and the religious freedoms all Religions have in the This great country of the good ol' US of A. but just like they have to move communities occasionally or import other Amish families to restock the proverbial pond so not to be marrying ones cousin once removed, so must cows be tagged or inspected as to not contaminate a community with infected cattle bought from someone trying to make a buck off of a person who may not know any better. Just my .02

Happy New year!

C'mon people! Honestly now - Would you rather eat beef from a cow raised, slaughtered, and not-inspected by the USDA, and ignored by the FDA; or a cow raised and slaughtered at an Amish community?

Sometimes, SMALL CULTS preserve a common-sense-integrity that is too embarrassingly difficult for BIG CULTS to handle.

BIG GOVERNMENT, BIG BUSINESS, BIG SCIENCE AND BIG RELIGION have always threatened, maimed and killed individuals. That is why diversity and competition are good things. There is significant scientific evidence that the polio epidemic was caused by civilization's sudden increase in sanitary conditions, which caused a polio "monopoly" by the suppression of competitive microbes, that beforehand, had kept the polio virus in check.

If you want to study stupidity, consider a closer and more critical look at the four horseman listed above.

Said the mother to her young bull, "Just because 10,000 lemmings jump off a cliff, doesn't mean that you should".

It's possible that the Amish will become the Kuwaitis of the USA after all the US strains collapse from disease and genetic burnout, and the only safe, naturally-raised animal products come from the Amish farms. More power to them, I say. It's quintessentially American to live any way you want as long as you don't break any laws. It is also a lot more constructive to go out and file suit to get the laws changed than to take some of the measures other people do.
