If MLK day is a holiday, then we need Cesar Chavez day as a day off. Given the current population demographics we should also have Sinco De Mayo off. Then of course there is memorial day, labor day, columbus day, vetrans day. Good Friday should be a day off and Ash Wednesday to allow attendances at services. Since it is unfair to have Christmas off and not Chunnakah, we should just have the entire month of December off. It is unfair to have Christmas off without having a day off for the Wiccians or satan worshippers in our community so lets take off Halloween and some day in the spring. The Irish are a big part of our culture, so we need St. Patricks day off. We cannot forget that Polish holiday where they make those doughnut things. In Michigan, we should honor our Canadian neighbors and take the multitude of Canadian Holidays off. However we have ot do the same for Mexico since they are our neightors too. Since we want everyone to feel special these days then everyone should get their own birthday off. Everyone also is entiteld to ten sick/personal days and ten vacation days. Then there is the standard holidays. I am sure that a few holiday are missing.

Ok we will all go to work on March 17. That will be the official go to work day. See ya then.

NYC & Chicago were ghost towns, schools closed and mass transit on a weekend schedule. Lot's of folks think there are too many days off as it is. That's one thing the Europeans got right, most jobs over there START with 4+ weeks per year vacation. Probably why they live 10+ years longer than Americans.

The most important day , thats not a national day off , is Election day. Much more important than , Columbus day for example , what did he ever do that was important ?
