I've seen most of the movies mentioned. But Grand Torino was the best film I've seen that was filmed in Michigan. A couple others I did not care for that were not mentioned.

Transformers- parts were filmed in Detroit
also
I think it was the Island with Ewen McGregor, part of it was filmed in Detroit.

I thought Billy Crystal filmed part of a film at Tiger stadium but not sure the name or if it was in fact filmed there. Maybe he just wanted to and the city council got mad and wanted it done at Comerica park.

Just watched American Pie 2 (2001) and according to imdb.com part of it was filmed in Grand Haven where Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971) was also partially filmed.

There are few movies that have parts that take place in Michigan, yet very little if any was filmed in Michigan. If I recall correctly the only part of Beverly Hills cop filmed here was the introduction scenes. As for actual filming here I don't think any more of it was in fact filmed in Detroit. I might be wrong about what scene, but I do know there were a lot of people pissed off about it.

Another one was Gross Point Blank. I thought I read almost none of it was filmed in Gross Point except a scene that shows the yaht club.

winter passing SHOULD have been filmed in michigan, but wasn't

new rule, if your movie involves a certain state/city, you have to film there!

REALLY! It sure would help our state out a little more, after all they are making BILLIONS of dollars off us! I heard there is a production studio going in up in Detroit, that would be nice. Bring Hollywood to Michigan, we need those big movie stars spending their money here! Well not too much hollywood, I dont want to have to pay $2000.00 for a purse or anything, I cant believe what they spend their money on. I think the most I have spent on a purse is $8.00. I am cheap! *LOL*

Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn. Two of the best movies made in ANY state, my friends.

yeah sometimes i think hey, if you're going to spend $2000 on a purse, why not just give it to me instead?

my cousin is an actor and he just got a small part in a film they shot at detroit metro airport with george clooney. i don't know the name of the film but its about acquiring/using travel miles or something like that.
