Utilities here are better.

Our 1500 sq ft home averaged $350 month. Every summer we had to do the payment plan to pay off winter's heating bill.

Here a 1500 square foot home averages $125 ish a month. Propane adds to your average.

Sales tax is 4.25% state and most counties are 2.75% for a total of 6.75%

Food is taxed at 2%

Car insurance is almost half of our MI bill..liability type

Cars are personal property and taxed by the county of residence and generally less than $75 for an older car and no more than $150 for a newer car.
Plates are $28 cars
cargo trailers (smaller) I think are $11

There can be additional services that cost like trash collection, water if not on a well system, propane. But real estate taxes are generally a LOT lower...

Gasoline is around $1.89 -- $1.93 20 miles south of Raleigh.

Tobacco is almost FREE..joking...but cigarettes are like $2.50-$2.75 ish??

The weather is GREAT...no salt, snow shovels or FREEZING BLOWING WINDS....

It is our first summer here so we have yet to experience the mosquitoes and bugs??

After several months we are very GLAD to have made the move...

We did leave the house but we believe it was a a lost cause anyways..

Unemployed, house payment and $350 month DTE bill was enough reason to look else where..

Not happy we HAD to--BUT GLAD WE WENT TO NC>>>>
