From the 2009 Stimulus plan? My DH got the letter in March saying that he would recieve an increase of $25 per week dating back from Feb 28. He just went back to work last week, but shouldn't he still be entitled to the increase that they owe him, although he didn't call in for his unemployment the last week in March? I read on the Mi Unemployment site that the increases would be issued by late March. Just curious if anyone in Michigan has recieved the increase yet?

Mine went into effect this week. I don't know what anyone is entitled too. I'd be glad to be back to work and not worry about it. I did not receive any back pay and don't expect it either.

Mine went into effect in March, and it did date back to the end of February. I would be contacting them to see what is up.......

I seem to have mine in effect for 1 week out of the 2 week checks , so my last call in must have been a week before the increase and the week after . I'll see in a couple of days for my next call in .
It's a $25 per week increase , or 50 bones per check .

$25 a week is a pretty nice raise, do the people who work for a living also get a $25 a week raise and who is going to end up paying for this? It has to come from somewhere.

Maybe if they deserve it or earn it. I'd take my $580 a week check over my 350 unemployment any day. I'm not laid off by choice, and I am thankful to have what I get. Thanks to my unemployment I have been able to avoid adding another house the foreclosures in Michigan. When I'm back to work I will continue to pay others to be off and have no problem with that.

Well, with all the money my DH has put into unemployment, he should be entitled to more than just a $25 raise. First time ever filing a claim since 20 years working. Also, not unemployed by choice of course, if that was the case he wouldn't be entitled to unemployment anyways. His weekly paycheck tripled what he gets in unemployment benefits. Oh, and the people who are working will be getting a little extra in there paychecks too, check out the 2009 Stimulus Package for more info. Who will end up paying for all this? I guess all of us in the end!!!!!

So will they just keep extending the time that one can receive unemployment or do people just move to welfare when the time runs out? How many months can you be paid and not work at all?

^I'm pretty sure it's indefinite. When our benefits run out, they'll just start taking money directly from your paycheck and savings and giving it to us. I'm thinking of moving into your garage, and never working again just to have the pleasure of sponging off you directly.

Seriously, how sad does someones life have to be to begrudge the unemployed an extra $25/week? Maybe when this crusade is over you can finally go after those damned homeless who keep eating up all the good soup down at the shelter.

Does anyone know when the State of Michigan Unemployment office will be sending out the back pay for the extra $25 per week?
