Does anybody have any old pics of any of the above cities or know of any site with them? Any time period from the 80's back is cool.

I've lived here my whole life, I was born in 89, I'm just curious to see what everything looked like before me. I've seen pictures of the Walled Lake amusement park. Wish that were still around

Thanks.

I heard about that amusement park; long gone before I lived in that area circa 1981.

Come to the Library on March 27, 2010 2-4 p.m. to see pics and hear about the area in the 1930's & 40's. FYI-My family has been here since 1835 so we have some interesting stories and we are looking for more all the time.

I don't know if you want to go back this far but:
The Making of Modern Michigan: DIGITAL COLLECTIONS (http://grp.lib.msu.edu/mmm.lib.msu.edu/search/browsedisplay.cfm?t=2&subcol=295 - broken link)
Walled Lake (http://walledlakelibrary.org/local_history/walled_lake/ - broken link)

I could probably dig up some pictures of the Lower Straits Lake where I uses to spend my summers
in Commerce ( all mansions on there now )

My sister used to live right near the lake off 13 mile. I was a teenager so it had to have been late 80's and I can tell you ( sorry cannot show you) the area has changed drastically in that time. They had a boat docked right near that park on the south side of the lake where the tunnel runs under the road. I used to go out there all time and today nothing looks the same. I hope someone can help you with some photo's. I'd be interested to see them as well.

I have only one old picture of the Walled Lake area. My father and grandfather were born in this house on Haggerty Road near 13 Mile Rd. It's a picture of a picture that has Christmas 1914 written on the back. Believe it or not, that dirt road on the lower left hand corner of the picture is Haggerty Road. The address was 30455 Haggerty Rd, Walled Lake, MI.

And a close-up of the farmhouse and outbuildings:

This is what the property looks like now:
