glad to see this commercials are really getting national recognition. There are SO many places to see, like many said, you dont even need to leave the state to see something different all the time.

I just came back from up north about an hour ago. I just posted about how many people were everywhere I went while up. It was the first time I spent any time on the west side of the state. Seen my 2nd sunset on lake Michigan at the beach in Manistee. Be careful near the bathrooms there is a water faucet with no handle that took a huge chunk out of my shin. Other than that Great great time in Northern Michigan. Manistee even made my wife think about living up there. Hmmmm
The air show on the bay in TC was enjoyable. I could sit at the bay every day and enjoy it every time.

You must have been at the First Street Beach. I have been up to Manistee the last couple of days taking my oldest to his DR. office there. Agreed that it has been busy on this side since the 4th. It won't quiet down now until Labor Day.

I think this ad campaign is doing just as much to awaken Michiganians to the fact that they actually do live somewhere beautiful and unique.

They tend to forget themselves.

A big thank you is due to part-time Leelanau resident Tim Allen for doing those commercials, and doing them well. Same goes for Jeff Daniels doing the business spots. Two Michigan guys doing their part. You can bet that whatever they were paid, if anything, was a HECK of a lot less than a movie or TV thing.
It's about time MI people realize what we've got here and celebrate it.

Both series of ads are getting huge exposure in California. Nice job!

I live in the Mid-Atlantic region of the country and have been somewhat focused on a move to SW Michigan (Saugatuck/Douglas area) for a few years and I can tell you the ad campaign has inspired me even more. I keep reading about all of the negativity regarding Michigan (much here in this very forum), how there aren't any jobs (even though 15% unemployment does mean 85% are working) and about long cold winters (not the only place where this occurs). Bring it on. No place is perfect, and the people I've met in Michigan, along with the scenery, more than compensate for whatever "shortcomings" it has. The naysayers can go ahead and move on to the strip mall wasteland and wretched humidity of Florida and Texas, or the perceived (not really) friendliness/rapid over development of North and South Carolina. I'll stick with what's true/real. I'm moving to Michigan.

Welcome to Michigan! Congrats, you will undoubtedly love it. I hear its just beautiful in SW MI.

First, I love your comment about the negativity in MI mostly being seen on this forum, because that is what I say time and time again. I never see that kind of negativity in my day to day experiences living and working in MI.

Yes, unemployment is high now....but it will bounce back, it always does.

And winter is nice too. I have a friend who lives in Philly, where its too cold to do anything outside most of the winter but only snows a few times a year. In MI, you will see plenty of snow, and see how winter is more than just miserable cold, there is surprisingly lots to do outdoors in winter. And a freshly fallen snowfall is one of the most beautiful things nature has to offer.
