Yes, if it was ruining my life, I would pick it up. I would not put it out there because I have trash pick-up. I pick-up stuff from the ditches in front of my house when necessary.

That was very obvious from your post. How far in life has that "doing the minimum, or not my job", got for you?

I was born here in Mount Pleasant. I can say that this town has always had hard times. The college students do well, but people in the trade jobs and tech jobs do very poorly. It has always been that way. Students do not stick around because they know they wont find jobs here. I would not move here if I had a choice. I had to come back from south east Texas. Jobs there are not much better.

All part time jobs are taken by college students and if you are a "townie" people are reluctant to hire you for entry level jobs. They want to hire students because they know business will go down when they leave so they wont have to pay a more permanent employee.

Do not consider the casino a stable place to take a job either, they fire people once they get to their 5,10 year mark. Plus they have that Indian preference law. They can fire you on the spot to give an Indian your job if they need it. Not something I want hanging over my head.

They have tons of apartments here, we have huge arguments about the amount of apartments we have here. People say we have to many and we cater to college students to much. I am not saying I agree, I am just telling you the facts. Mother-in law just put her name on a petition to stop the building of yet another apartment.

Just don't move here. You will not be happy, but you will be broke

As a kid growing up in Mt. Pleasant was wonderful. But that was when I had no worries. My mom struggled to raise four kids in that place. When I was grown up and had to take on responsibilities, there was not a whole lot I could do. I moved to Virginia a year ago. Nice weather, plenty of jobs, places to live, and nice people. And I live 15 minutes away from Yorktown Beach..

Jamestown is a *rough* apartment complex to begin with. There is MANY other places you can move too, everyone knows those apartments are for PARTYS! The owner of them apartments dont live there and I know this for a Fact. I also know that the Owners have always fixed things there, and by god when the KIDS move out the Apartments are ALWAYS trashed ! You want a top notch place go get something a bit more $$ and you will be happier
Mt.Pleasant caters to Students because they are bringing in the MONEY. I dont live there but my Hubby worked there for 5 years, and I can tell you, I go there ALOT.

There is nice parts in Mt.Pleasant as well, NOT all is hectic, students and so on.....

Check out the WHOLE town,,, drive arround and then decide.

BTW to the Person in Harisson, what do you mean NO crime ?? What about the MANY Sex offenders in that Town allone? I know you want to sell your Place but cmon....

Mt. Pleasant has high Insurance rates and the apartments cost Alot. I have several friends living in Mt. Pleasant. One is paying about $650 for an apartment. Another is paying about $600 for a 3 bedroom trailer - in a trailer park. I would say don't move into Mt. Pleasant, live somewhere near.
