I'm just wondering if it's possible?... is there a lot of hassle?... etc.

I have literally only a single check to probate. It's too high of an amount to do an affidavit of heirship on (I'm an only child) so it's not involved or convoluted at all. This should be a very simply situation and I want to avoid legal fees since we aren't even paying our bills on time right now! It's not like I have extra cash to retain a lawyer!

I am a lawyer, and I would not try it. (I am not a T & E lawyer). However I just have to walk down the hall to gt someone to do it for me.

It should not cost much with a single check. Get someone to do it on a flat fee for a couple of hundred dollars.

My sister did it alone when our dad passed away. If she had it to do over I don't think she would go it alone again. But it is possible.
