Yeah, it all sucks.
Yep it sucks! Did you know there are 31,407 islands in the great lakes? Of course some of these are just small boulders, but I guess they count. Obviously the guy who said Michigan is not very beautiful has never traveled here much.

I just take those who say MI is boring, flat, ugly, and has no beauty; as somebody that has never been more than a couple miles into the State, or one that has traveled throughout the State and has to tear down the place to make their crap-holes look better to themselves.

When we lived in California, my wife hated the weather - no snow. No change of seasons. She was very happy to move back to Michigan. (I on the other hand was pretty contented with boring perfect weather every day.)

If you're talking about Yaz, I've read enough of his posts to tell you with confidence that he's saying that facetiously. He is the rare soul who moved to a warm state but is still mature enough and honest enough to tell you that, while he's happy where he is, he still misses some of the great things about Michigan. When he said "Yeah, it all sucks", he was being sarcastic. Really.

I think Moldman got it......

Was chattin' with a coworker recently that hails from ChicagoLand.....we were laughing about Christmas decor 'round here. It just doesn't look right without the white stuff.

Gotta admit, Santa and his reindeer look more natural on a snow covered lawn.....but our cactus is lookin' spectacular!

We typically go back to MI for Christmas but we're kinda strapped this year; not to mention that our plan is to tour the Great Lake State next summer. Hard to do twice in a year (financially).

Yup I got it Canudigit! I am not stupid enough to think that Michigan is the most beautiful state, but this is where I live, where I wanna live and where I will most likely always live. Several years ago my wife talked me into getting an RV. I had never really traveled Michigan a whole lot, but since then, I have got to see a lot more of this state then I ever thought I would. I can honestly say I did have thoughts of leaving before we got the rv, but now I have fallen so in love with Michigan I never want to leave! Even after many summers of traveling, we have still only seen probably 10% of the state, and there are many more places I need to go! I really need to see Isle Royale, and see if there really is a state record bass in Lake Manitou on north Manitou Island! Oh...and about a million other places!

Gosh, I hope you didn't think that I was implying that you are stupid, because that was the last thing I meant. I don't even think I quoted the right post, I just wanted whomever to know that Yaz really does like Michigan and that he wasn't picking on us. I think we get so sensitive sometimes that we think that everyone is laughing and looking down on us because they all think that we are unemployed and live in the 'hood in Detroit...

I hope you didn't take offense. I consider you one of my "friends" on this forum, because you have a positive attitude and love Michigan just as I do.

Unfortunately...it looks like a wet, muddy Christmas this year.
