I live near Kalamazoo and it seems like our water bills are pretty high. I live in a new house with just my wife and I don't think we use a ton of water between the two of us and our monthly bill is over $60 a month. We don't water the lawn or anything either. What are normal water bills like in MI?

Wow!! We just moved to the same general area (renting for now) and we've never paid a water bill before. Thanks for the heads up. We'll definitely follow our plan to buy out in the country with a well & septic (as we've done our entire lives).
I never would of even imagined a monthly water bill being that high.

Depends on where you live. My parents moved up north and paid $60 a month for water when they were paying $20 every 3 months in the city of Detroit.

LOL, my bill typically is in the $170 range every month and I'm not even running the sprinklers since it's been raining every week. That's an average bill in this area. Water is very expensive here in Florida.

That's impossible. Florida isn't in Northern Michigan so it can't be that expensive.

Our city water is quite high here because the city put in a new system just a few years ago, and it really jacked the prices up. For a family of 6 with 4 of them being very active boys, our bill averages about $72 a month. Of course that is 6 showers a day, at least 2 loads of laundry a day, & dishes up the wazoo, not to mention the flushes, drinks, hand washings, etc....

No I'm saying that Northern Michigan has the most expensive water in the world. I'm agreeing with you because you are always right.

It probably depends on where you are at. I used to live just outside of Detroit, a family of 3 and our bills were about 105.00 every 3 months (that is how its billed). Now we live in Northern Indiana and have a well. I was thrilled with no water bill. BUT the pump runs constantly and our electric bills are pretty expensive. I think it all ends up a wash. In general, MI water bills are pretty cheap. The advantages of being by the Great Lakes. I have a friend in AL that pays about 200 per month. It was quite a shock for her.

In the Clarkston area we pay about $44 every three months with average water usage (no lawn watering).
