No, we camp quite a bit during the summer, so I am gone almost every weekend. Its very hard for me to do any shows in the summer. I wish I could get someone to take my things to markets and shows...maybe Ill ask around!

Around 2050, 80% of WORLD's population will be living in large metropolitan areas or slums (depending on "luck"). That means that >90% of Americans will be living in large urban areas. Depopulation of rural areas didn't begin yesterday, it will not stop today or tomorrow. Whether it's intentional or it's miraculous ways of the "invisible hand", that's the way of the future. Rural areas will host mega agrobiz, mega estates of the wealthy, relatively wealthy urban retirees with independent sources of income and their modestly compensated servants of all kinds as well as minimum wage servants of the servants. This 14 pages argument can be extended to just about any rural area in the USA.

Daniel, I want to be clear and not mislead. I don't live in Alcona County. I have a vacation cottage there and last winter, with the economy being what it is, and needing to stop spending so much $, I winterized my lower (Ingham County) house and moved the the smaller, much more economical cottage for about 8 months, beginning Nov, 2009. It became apparent that I'd need something productive to do and to get me out of the house and that's when I sought out and accepted the job with the Veterinarian. I agree with you, there's something delightfully peaceful about little old Alcona County! I may have my Ingham County farmette leased w/an option to buy and if it all comes together, I'll be living "up north" again starting this Spring!
