They have then ad-nauseum on streets around TVC. Very annoying and unnecessary. Basically a revenue accrual tool. Nothing more

I am thankful for the 25 mph speed limit on my residential street. Kids playing, driveways, the street isn't even very long so 25 is fast enough. Most of us don't ever get faster than 15 on it anyway.

Here it is: Speed limits may be raised in Wyoming | WOOD TV8

'Three years ago, state police convinced lawmakers that many local speed limits were unsafe and too low. Studies have shown low limits can cause motorists to drive a wide variety of speeds, causing more conflicts and crashes.'

You might want to contest that speeding ticket if you were in a 25 mph zone. That is unless you were going over 50

I didn't see a 25 mph speed limit mentioned even once in the article. It is very appropriate for residential streets. Other streets, take on a case-by-case basis.

Considering we don't live in WY, I think I will just do the posted speed.

It's pretty much inferred. We've all driven in 25 mph (even 35) stretches that should be higher and in other areas not.

"The move is in response to a report 24 Hour News 8 did on how new state laws make many local limits invalid."

and

"Slowly but surely, cities are raising their limits"

and

"Municipalities have been reluctant to increase limits because of expense and negative reaction from some members in the community."

Your community may not have changed the posted speed in certain locales because of the reasons above. All I'm saying is I wouldn't be surprised if the cops gave motorists a bit more leeway with this new new law on the books and probably ignore strict enforcement already.

Not sure of the truth behind it, but my friend's dad said something once that the lowest a speed limit can be on a state highway is 30. But we have plenty of 25 zones on state highways.

Alone, I would usually rather do the speed limit. But what I don't like is commonly the speed of traffic is 35-40 in a 25 and you have to go that fast to merge.
