As the thread name implies, I need some advice. My boyfriend works in Clarkston and will be going to school in Livonia. I work in Canton, and go to school in Detroit. Right now we live in Clarkston. Does anyone know of a place that would be more centralized for us? We're looking at renting either an apartment or a house, and would prefer somewhere semi-rural (which I don't think is going to happen).

Thanks!

Clarkston--Nasty commute in and out of Detroit any time any day--except 8:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning. Any travel along I-75 into Detroit is a cluster.

Canton is ok, still a pain into Detroit (what school?)

Livonia is nice because it is situated near I-96.

What school in Detroit, you might consider Farmington that has the Lodge into Detroit and easy to Livonia.

Going to Madonna or Schoolcraft you might consider Northville as well.

Yeah, I'm kind of leaning toward the Northville/Farmington area. I've actually been driving from Clarkston to Detroit for the last year or so, and it's not that bad, about 50 mins to WSU.

We still haven't decided, but thanks for the input!

Farmington Hills/Farmington is a nice area, and you could probably find a nice apartment or house to rent there.

You could also look into Novi.

Farmington Hills is a nice area. I would know since I grew up here. A lot has changed like everywhere else--more offices, more communities, etc. I really like living in this area since I am close to Twelve Oaks Mall and many restaurants.

I live in Livonia. It's not too bad of a place. It has it's good and bad areas. East of Middlebelt stats the not too great area. But pretty much anything west of Middlebelt is ok. Except the new Wal-Mart going up at 7 and Middlebelt.....hate it......
