I read in the latest issue of The Week that a study done by the Department of Labor showed, in contrast to the bleak figures I keep hearing about everywhere else, that over a million jobs have opened up in this country since the start of the year, over 300,000/month. These are small-business and other private-sector jobs that got overlooked in the usual surveys on that subject.

Not to sound rude, but this doesn't make any sense, any registered business in the united states must report their numbers by law whether small or in the private sector. And while the US does have job growth every month, the job loss currently well surpasses this number.
The article below is a current press release from the BLS which highlights national activity in unemployment numbers...which shows numbers of less than half of 300K
