Just wondering how everyone fared through the wild and wooly weather last night. We came through okay, although the back half of our backyard is under water. Can see that the mosquito population is about to explode, but at least we didn't lose all our vegetables as we have raised beds. So many surface streets are closed due to flooding, not necessarily overflowing storm sewers, but creeks and streams and tributaries that flow into Detroit River and/or Lake Erie that have crested, that DH is wondering how long it will take him to get to work this morning.

Lots of rain last night, but that is all. No flooding or anything. Sun looks like it wants to come out right now.

All it did was rain here. Nothing wild going on with either the weather or at home.... Rather peaceful. Only hear crickets and bits of traffic now and then. And on occasion I can get the fresh scent of the lake floating into my windows. Crisp. Nice......

Sirens going off, thrashing winds and rain reducing visibility like a snowstorm. Almost the entire I-94 corridor in southern MI under Tornado Warnings simultaneously, crazy. Went and saw the tornado damage in Dundee, MI. Just incredible what nature can do.

Rain making tata sounds on the roof, such a peaceful sound to sleep by.

Today is Tuesday and we got enough rain Sunday night and monday morning to last for several weeks. Please turn the water off so I can get back to one of the bee yars and check the girls out. It's real muddy there. I have a couple other yards that need to dry out also, the land owners would not like the ruts. They need honey supers placed before they swarm.

Al

The tornado that ravaged Dundee touched down a quarter mile from our house and it didn't even wake us up. Our neighborhood was left totally untouched and the rest of the town looks like a giant came through and knocked down as many trees as he could. It's rough. We are feeling mighty, mighty blessed that it missed us.

Glad that you are okay, Canudigit, I was wondering how close you were to the storms.

Thanks. Yep, in our subdivision you can't even tell that there was a storm. The rest of the town has a lot of damage. Our power was only off for 36 hrs. too, which I thought was pretty darned good, considering that there were dozens of electric poles snapped off like pencils here with wires on the ground. Kudos to DTE for working around the clock to get us back to normal as soon as possible!

I was overcome with emotion when we went out to survey the damage Sunday morning and saw fire and rescue trucks from so many towns who had come to help: Ann Arbor, Dexter, Saline, Chelsea, Petersburg, Blissfield, Monroe...and many more. God bless those who were willing to come down and help out our town.

We had a lot of lighting hits and power surges here.

So, we have been very busy changing water pumps for people.
