Moving to Yokosuka Japan (military, the best, housing, worth)

Civil contractor moving to yokosuka in Nov. looking for advice, opinions, perspectives, information, directions, etc...regarding finding off base housing, furniture, appliances(purchase, delivery, installation) and vehicles. Any help is appreciated. Thanx.

I could swear we had a big thread a while back about Yokosuka but I can't find it right now. Try the search function limiting it to this Military forum and see if maybe you can find it. I might be wrong but its worth a shot.

Your best source of info really is JapanBases.com #1 Resource For Japan Military Base Community. You will find just about any information you need on that site, and members are really helpful with answering questions...I know it was a big help when I moved to Japan!

So, we're moving to Yokosuka, Japan and I was wondering. For the High School, what do they offer? Cheerleading? Drama? Dance? And out in the community, what are the best ways to travel about? Bike, Shuttle Bus, Car? Is there a Preforming Arts Centre on Base? What about a movie theatre?
If anyone could help me that would be AMAZING!

OH ur there now in Japan...i am moving in Nov 2011!! Any suggestions is really appreciated particularly where is the cheapest place to live
