Not everyone could bring their families with "Command Sponsorship", so some brought them at their own expense...

In my 11th month of my first 12 month short tour I was offered "Command Sponsorship", I could bring my family over at government expense and get government housing (If available), but I think I had to extend two years, I declined. That was 1972/73

Things have changed a lot.

i remember the number of years had to be over the two factor for a person to get there familys to come when i came to Korea in 1977 time frame ..for i asked if i was single or married at the in procressing into the unit ..
