Military Times has an article about a study that the VA should handle retiree health care. I like the idea. It avoids duplication of services and frees up the active duty healthcare to focus on the current troops. What do you think about this idea?

Many veterans with Tri Care for life use the VA...for various reasons. However, there is still a benefit of using outside healthcare...too complicated to explain in a paragraph.

It is not an idea, it is a report. I am a retired soldier. I have used Military Hospitals, VA Facilities and Civilian facilities with mixed results.... It depends on a lot of factors, the key words "health care might be more efficiently" would mean to me that more facts are need. That report in itself, does me, as a retiree, no good.

Report: Have VA take over retiree health care

A new report by a think tank with close ties to the Obama administration suggests responsibility for military retiree health care might be more efficiently handled by the Veterans Affairs Department instead of the Pentagon.

I think having it all handled by the VA is a good idea because right now it's all spread out. Go to this clinic for this, and this clinic for that. That being said the VA would need a lot more funding and doctors to handle the influx.
