Anyone stay at Mayport NS, Florida? (house, community, proximity, travel)

Our family is looking at a 2 week time there for some active duty. Would prefer to stay in the community at a beach house as were travelling with a dog. I just saw on the base info website that they have quarters that allow dogs. If anyone has used the quarters would you share your experience there please? We're curious about the proximity to the beach and how nice--or not--the beach access is on base. Appreciate any other information on the area as well. Thanks!
