Hey everyone, this is my first post in this forum.
I am trying to join the US Air Force.
About a month ago I went to my local Recruiter and he told me that everything about my profile (Education, motives for joining, etc.) looked great except for my weight. So I followed a strict diet and workout regime and I lost 25 pounds in 1 month, I put my all into it, because joining the US Air Force is my dream.
So I go back to my Recruiter's office and he tells me that the fact that I have a GED might be a problem and he's not sure if I could join. What I don't understand is, being that I have a GED AND 27 college credits, shouldn't I be eligible to join?
I'm not saying the recruiter is lying or anything like that, maybe there is just something that I am not aware of.
I hope you guys can shed some light on this matter.
Thank you and have a wonderful day.

From the AF website;
Be between 18 and 27 years of age.
Be a U.S. citizen or legal, permanent resident.
Have at least a high school degree.
OR have a GED and at least 15 college credits.
Go see a different recruiter, tell him your ready to join now
It could also be that the college credits are not from an regionally or nationally accredited college or university. I turned away many that had college credits or degrees from unaccredited schools. It also matters if they were quarter credits or semester credits. It also matters that the credits were 100 level or above and not prerequisite math and English credits to get you to the point where you could start taking 100 level credits that apply towards a degree.
Go see the Army or Marine recruiter. I respect the Air Force, but they are not the only game in town.
ditto. AF is okay. But they have a smaller workforce. Meaning not as many jobs available. The can be more selective cause they "Aim High". Talk to an Army recruiter.
