My husband graduated with a BS in Meteorology and was looking into the Air Force, AFSC 15WX Weather Officer. My general understanding of the process is something like:
1) Speak with a recruiter
2) Take the AFOQT
3) Go to MEPS
4) Wait...
5) Attend BOT
However, at what point in the process is the AFSC actually assigned, and how much notice are you typically given before BOT starts, assuming you are accepted after MEPS?
I'm a recruiter. As part of your application you fill out something called an AF Form 56. On that form, you list what jobs you want. Eventually, if you are selected, a job offer is made. It may or may not be as a Weather Officer. At that point, you decide to accept or decline. If you decline, it WILL be held against you if you reapply.
But you do have the basic process down. You take the AFOQT and it becomes a part of the larger application, which includes the 56 (56 has job requests, biographical data, essay on why you want to join, law violations, and other relevant information). Other parts of the application are transcripts, letters of recommendation, and an interview.

Do you mean as in an OFFICER, OR ENLISTED. i think officer need to find an officer selection officer, i think you will need to google around to see where is possible to search for the closest one, or an email. officers dont take asvab.

Officer, which is why I mentioned the AFOQT instead of ASVAB. The Air Force website let's you search by recruiter for enlisted, officer, or medical/clergy, and as it happens our local enlisted recruiter is also an officer recruiter.

i just realized my name is a typo.
Thats pretty unusual that your recruiter is also for the officer route, many people ive looked online, assumes thier recruiters will help direct them towards officer path, but they only want to enlist you. Have you spoken to officer recruiter or ots agent. Do you have degree already, or about to go to college?
