If entered Navy boot camp in February 1990 in Orlando Florida. One of the items we were given was a silver tube like a small tube of toothpaste along with traditional name brand toothpaste. From day one we were pushed to bulrush our teeth three times a day after each meal and to use the toothpaste first and the silver tube paste after to brush our teeth. At our graduation our families all remarked how bright white were our teeth. I suspect we were test subjects for future teeth whitening products. Do you know of any other examples of military recruits being used as test subjects for products?

MILITARY DRUG TESTING - PHARMACEUTICAL EXPERIMENTS RUN ON OUR TROOPS? EXPERIMENTING ON TROOPS: https://www.cchr.org/documentaries/h...on-troops.html
From the 1950s through the 1970s, psychiatrists in countries like Britain, the United States and the USSR used their militaries as proving grounds for an arsenal of new experimental treatments such as LSD. The U.S. Army estimated that at least 1,500 soldiers were given LSD as part of mind control experiments during this era.

I would think one of the perks of being in the military is getting to use and try all that cool new gadgets, weapons, and technology that the MIC keeps pumping out.

During my first hitch in the military I was at my permanent station for at least a year when one day, in the chow hall, there were people taking a survey. They were serving carrots for lunch, along with the main dish, that had been irradiated (I believe) to kill bacteria. It was voluntary to eat them, but if you consumed them they had a questionaire for you to fill out regarding their taste, texture, etc. That was the only time that I personally experienced that in the military. Sorry, was not a recruit at the time. This was late 70s.

I am not sure if it happened during my service time but I did notice that after certain vaccinations, people not only became a bit groggy but also behaved somewhat weird. We were acting like those people who need insulin to stay normal. That condition lasted maybe a day or three.

What time frame? During the Desert Storm scud episodes there was stuff given to troops that was suspected to be the cause of health issues.
