For those who don't know (and not many do). The origin of the term Boot Camp, is B.O.O.T. Camp or Basic Organization and Operations Training Camp. (or was it operations & organization?)

Multigender? oh whats that word they use. They were somewhat mean to us at times but we got used to it.I did lots of push ups personally for our CC when i told him I thought you had to be an American to be in the Navy....... My second day. Turns out this little dude was a filipino I did not Know what that was never heard of them I thought he was some little weird mexican dude that wandered on base. He told me I PUCKING SENIOR CHIEF GIVE ME 100 PUSHUPS NOW or something real close. Oh well If I was like I am now then I would have held him down and tickled him till he cried.

MCRD, Parris Island, SC. Went there in February of 1993. There were some really bad rain storms that season and we had to march to the chow hall in about a foot of water. Other than going to chow, we didn't leave the barracks for a few days and slept for about 12 hours a day.

*hubby's* Fort Sill 02 August - 14 December 1994 {Basic & AIT back to back, obvs} We have a godson there now and can't believe the changes in just 16 years. He updates his facebook almost daily and IMs his mother at least twice a week. We had 20-30 minute phone calls once a week sometimes twice if the planets aligned right.
