How about that sub shop on Hwy 58 toward Naha (near a Marine Base - MCAS FNMA?)? It had the BEST meatball subs!

The small bistro on the beach at Vung Tau, Viet-nam. Fresh bread and not so good wine for the short liberty.

I dont even think these places had names but when I was TDY to NAS Sigonella they had these little busses down town that had been converted to mini kitchens that made the best Chicken Panninis EVER! We would ride downtown after midnight just to eat there. It was soo good. So was the food at Incirlik in Turkey. Mujdats and the the resturant at the end of the alley on the left were so good! Then you have all the schnitzel in Germany. LORD HELP ME, I'm hungry now.

When I was stationed at the Army Hospital in Heidelberg Germany my favorite place to eat was Eis Cafe Pizzeria Europa in Kirchheim. The pizza, schnitzel, bread, and salads were awesome.

While stationed at Hardt Kaserne in Schwabisch Gmund, Germany (1966-67) one of the favorite places was Leo & Margret's Gasthaus in Oberbettringen. It was a small farmer village, the Gasthaus appropriately equipped. They made a great schnitzel sandwich, the entire schnitzel between two large slices of bread. Sure was delicious, chased down by a glass of Heubacher Bier. To a few of us GIs Leo extended credit. Great, friendly people!

Coco's near Yokota AB. Their chicken cutlet with curry and rice is da bomb on a cold night.

Yes I liked it also. I am surprised it has not caught on here in the states. Were you stationed in Heidelberg?
