dh is a 1T2X1 (X is the level right? He's a 7 or 9, not sure?????) I'm really surprised I can remember the job code at all in the first place. Of course, I have long forgotten my own ss# so I shouldn't be too surprised.
Yes, I heard about the Overseas Imbalance AFSCs. Actually, I remember the LOX production guys at Kwang Ju had other AFSCs so that they didn't have to spend all of their careers overseas. (Don't know if you ever operated one, but I always thought the Mack R fuel trucks (R-5?) were pretty good -looking. But I liked the days of hi-vis yellow POL trucks better!)
In my short 2 1/2 years in Fuels, I operated R2, R5, and R8 fuel trucks. I also worked in Vehicle Inspection/Minor Maintenance, Bulk Storage (pumping fuel to flight-line), LOX, and as a dispatcher. The only two places I didn't work in was the service station and hydrants. All this was at Dyess AFB (Abilene, TX) where I met some good friends and generally, had a good time in the "REAL AIR FORCE."

Lisdol, you're correct; the "X" is the skill level; generally a SSgt, TSgt and MSgt are "7" levels and SMSgt and CMSgt are "9" levels. There are some exceptions to that, such as when an NCO is retraining. I'll bet one of the currently active-duty folks can explain it even better...
