I have a question for any servicemen or servicewomen who are currently studying any career development courses (CDC's). Has anyone purchased the Mcmillan study guide course called "Master Your CDC's"? I went ahead and did it and it seems extremely useful in terms of self testing, review questions, and the mock final exam in addition to games geared towards the test. I took the courses mock final and got a 59 then after 2 days of cramming I scored a 92. The test questions were arranged differently the second time. Now I understand it is no substitute from reading the books. I called the company and they said every question listed are all the questions from the book. Has anyone used this guide and benefitted from it and has anyone used just the cd to prepare. Thanks!
i did buy them one year, but what was more helpful to me was the "three highlighter method". i used a blue, yellow, & pink highlighter. for the section review questions, i highlighted the answers in blue; UREs in yellow. whatever sections were highlighted by those two--turning them green (i later highlighted the questions in pink) were areas i hit the most. that helped me A LOT.
Should be PDG Gold, PFE is old what it use to be called. It is a study guide created by McMillian. The PDG covers one of the tests use by the Air Force for promotions.
The games are great. I took the final exam and scored high 90's every time. Anyone ever use just the CD's only and pass without ever really looking in the books?
I've used both and yes they've helped. I think it helps break down the monotony of just reading the CDC's and losing concentration. The repetitive nature of the questions helps to remember the material. I think even if these study materials only gave you a 10 question advantage it's worth the price. I've missed promotions by only a point or two in the past, so every point and advantage helps.
