Ceremony at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii December 7th to honor the 189 who died and 303 who were wounded during the
surprise attack by Japanese fighter aircraft in 1941. Many were killed while still asleep in the consolidated barracks, a 3,200-man
barracks, the largest in the Army Air Forces at the time. The chow hall, located in the center of the building, took a direct hit, killing
35 men eating breakfast. Several cooks who sought shelter in a walk-in cooler were killed by the concussion of subsequent blasts.
This was reportedly the most bombed building on Oahu. Photo courtesy U.S. Air Force photo by Technical Sergeant Shane A.
Cuomo, 2006.

Enlisted Dress Blues Cover - A peaked cap, forage cap or combination cap is a form of headgear worn by the armed
forces of many nations. In the United States military, they are commonly known as service caps, wheel caps, saucer
caps, or combination covers in the Naval services. The cap has a crown, a band, and a peak (British English) or visor
(American English). For the United States Marine Corps, the Enlisted members caps have a black crown, band and the
chin strap. The "device" is the Marines' Eagle, Globe, and Anchor device. For blue dress uniforms, the cap is white with
a gilt device. For the service uniforms, an olive drab combination cap is available. Photo courtesy of Rich Sanchez.
