That is not unusual, it was that way for years with Champus, and even civilian insurance companies. They can write off the amount not paid. There are schedule's for various procedures that different programs use.

What abour all those who have no insurance? Who ultimately pays their bill?

You can also deal down your bills. I have refused to pay bills in the past which Champus or Tricare would not cover, if they accept you, then they accept the allowable rates.

that is bad news for all of us. it is hard to find doctors esp specialists for my kids with tricare. if they paid these specialists 21% less, i am not sure that the few that take tricare will continue to see us!

from what i read, senate passed a legislation on Friday to delay the cut but it must pass the house as well. unfortunately, nancy pelosi is blocking it and saying that she will not pass this unless there are other items tied to the bill that she wants with "job creation". she is just posturing at our expense, i cannot lose my doctors... you do not understand unless you've tried to make appointments at civilian specialist's office, tricare seems looked down upon already and i had a hard time finding a good one.

Forcing Doctors into socialized medicine won't benefit the patient, but it will advance their agenda.
