I now live in Florida ,but when visting my old neighborhood Saz's is a major distination as we love their food . We generally plan on a Friday arrival and order the perch dinner although I haven't had their ribs I heard they are the bomb. Their sandwiches and burgers are crazy good. They have plenty of brewskies at Saz's.
It's on Plank road down a little west from the Tosa village before you get to Miller.

Update: Mayura's lunch buffet has been pretty disappointing the last few times I've been there.

Pho Bien Tuyet or whatever the hell it's called is good.

Where is Pho Bien Tuyet? I'm not sure I've seen it.

Have you tried the new Vietnamese places along 27th Street (south of Oklahoma Ave.)? There's Pho 27, which I haven't been to yet. South of there, on the other side of the street, is Pho Viet (very good), and that's adjacent to a new Asian supermarket (Pacific Produce--very large and well stocked) which has a small counter service Thai restaurant and a banh mi place. There are also roasted ducks for sale, and lots of interesting produce and seafood. You might already have seen these places, but figured I'd mention them, just in case....

27th and Howard or Grange

Somewhere over there. I need to go to the new market, since Viet Hoa is pretty god damn disgusting. I live in Bay View, too.

Steny's is a bar I used to go to a lot since it is right by my home but as usual slow bad service and over priced beer.

Steny's used to be better before the massive renovations, now I think they have gotten to big for their britches.

Steny's used to be a great neighborhood tavern now it just too yuppie and the service and quality has declined.

Pizza Shuttle just screwed up my order in two ways, but they gave it to me half price, so I'll take it.

I've been really surprised at how good the pizza is around here. Milwaukee doesn't seem to be known around the country for it's pizza, but there's a lot to choose from and so far everything I've had has been excellent. Klasiana's and Village Pizza, both in Greendale, are a couple of my favorites so far.
Gyros are another popular thing I wasn't expecting to see so much of. Even fast-food drive through-type places have them. So far we like Oakland Gyros on Layton near the airport.

Also if anyone has some suggestions on Mexican restaurants, I'd love to hear them. Doesn't matter what part of town. Will travel for good food.
